Dust Off! Dust Covers and Straps!

Yes, let's do a little dusting shall we?
You'll have to forgive me, I have been very quiet for the past couple of months. I have been busy with the whole first trimester sickness and losing all sorts of motivation and will to sew during those past months.

YES, my little guy will be having his very own little buddy soon! And he's as excited as we are!

Now, I am getting those sleepless nights just thinking about sewing, sewing new projects, sewing maternity dresses and tops for myself and eagerly wanting to know if I will be expecting a girl or a boy. It's nothing really but if I am expecting a girl, I can't wait to jump onto some girlie dresses for the coming addition!

Anyway, I received a new challenge which psyched me so much, I was excited to work on them and finished in 1.5 days flat while minding an almost 2 toddler and house chores. Dust covers for a washing machine and a microwave and a Camera Strap that isn't a sleeve :) I love new projects. More than happy to work with them always!

Here are the pictures. I actually took pictures of the Microwave top dust cover in the making to post a simple how to. Will do it soon, maybe after this post. I really need to reorganize this blog. It's such a mess!

Enjoy!

Stick them eyes on!

Here's what we made and that I haven't blogged about.
Chago actually enjoyed doing this and I can see him concentrating when he's gluing the eyes on.
Helps with coordination too.
I need not tell him where the eyes are supposed to go to.
He just went for it!

The finished project up on our refrigerator

Here's Chago gluing on Papa's eyes :)

The Grand dad's Next

Want to gues who this is? :)

This little guy needs no introduction at all

Here they are - Glued on!
The eyes of the people Chago have grown to love

Up on the refrigerator :)

The Cat In the Hat

A cousin of mine asked me if I could help out with sewing Seuss' Cat in the Hat HAT
She got all the materials out for me and here you have it
The hat from Cat in the Hat made out of
Felt and heavy weight canvas on the inside to make sure it stands upright.

I wish I had actually taken some step by step pictures but I bet you can easily google for tutorials out there
Here's one good tutorial though

Disfruta!

With Love from Finland :)

Woohoo! Postcard Numero Dos!
:)
And this time, it comes with translation! So no more guessing work :)

Pullas!
I bet Chago would love this when we start learning about the Scandinavian Countries.

"Sweet Bread called Pulla was a rare treat. Since good flour was hard to get and mills were miles away, pulla was baked only for holidays. A large amount of dough was prepared, and some of the remaining sweet bread was dried into rusk. Ram head pullas and grandma's baking towel from Western Finland."

Love that little hippo :)
Or at least, I think it's a Hippo...

Till we post cross next!

Our First Postcard!!!

YAY!
We got our FIRST Postcard today and so Chago did the hokey pokey dance yee haa!
And this is what our sender wrote at the back of the postcard in red:

"Hei, This picture is for a children song, about spring, flowers, and walking without shoes, Hapy post-Crossing.

Anikka"

 Anikka Kaller of Sweeden :D

I love the stamp too! A man feeding the steam engine's coal burner or whatever you call that...
Will look it up tomorrow morning.
Gah! My ignorance!

In my Post Crossing Profile, I mentioned how I wanted my postcards to be in their native language and without translation.
Great, now I realized that these comes with hyphens etc and what IF i receive a postcard in Japanese or Chinese???
So, now I would need to do some editing in my profile

If anyone knows how to translate this, do help!

Till I post Cross again!
